Kate’s ability to connect with her clients and understand their needs and concerns is absolutely one of her greatest strengths. Clients and peers appreciate Kate's compassion, responsiveness and direct approach.

Kate is a native Oregonian, born and raised in the Willamette Valley. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and returned to Eugene to attend law school, where she also began her legal career. She has been licensed in Oregon since 2006.
With nearly 20 years of specialized experience, Kate is passionate about helping individuals, business and non-profit organizations of all types navigate the complex system of employment laws. Kate’s comprehensive experience, including several years with big law firms doing employment advice and litigation work, informs her strategic and pragmatic approach to client issues.
Let’s face it - Employment is a necessity for the vast majority of individuals, and they need expert help, too. When things aren’t going well at work, it deeply impacts your life. Kate frequently assists individual employee clients handling things like severance negotiation and review, medical leaves, workplace complaints and investigations, employment-related claims, employment contracts, and other issues.
Regardless of the issue, need or dispute, Kate always aims to address her client’s matters in a direct, cost-effective manner. She provides calm and clear guidance in often extremely stressful situations. More than anything, Kate enjoys building relationships with her clients and playing a role in their success.

Outside of Work
Kate loves to spend her free time with her dogs and family, almost always immersed in nature. Kate is a plant parent to hundreds of houseplants, an avid vegetable gardener, and a talented home cook. Summers are busy in the Wright household! Kate recently helped her 10-year old daughter establish a handmade jewelry business and they love to spend time together being creative and learning entrepreneurship skills. You may also catch Kate with her laptop, decompressing in the evenings with episodes of Below Deck or Top Chef.
